Blue Man Group is looking for last-minute entries for their 2nd annual Las Vegas Drum-Off competition, which will take place at Container Park on Saturday, Nov. 11.
Video submissions for the drum-off are open now through Thursday, Oct. 26 at 11:59 p.m.
To enter, drummers have to be 13 years of age or older and must submit a 1-2 minute video. Contest officials say they're looking for contestants to show off their creativity, musicality, and technical ability.
Semi-finalists will play in front of a live panel of judges inside the Blue Man Theater at Luxor hotel-casino on Nov. 4. From there, five finalists will each perform a two-minute session in front of a live crowd at Container Park on Nov. 11.
Kurt Rasmussen, a professional percussionist performing in "O" by Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas, will be part of the judging panel in the final round. Steph Mackenzie of 97.1 The Point will serve as the emcee for the event, which will be free for the public to attend.
The winner of the competition will get a prize package valued at over $5,000, featuring VIP tickets to see Blue Man Group in Las Vegas (with a meet-and-greet Behind the Blue experience), a drum kit from DW Drums, a Sabian XSR Rock Performance Set, sticks from Vic Firth, and more.
