A special event was held Saturday afternoon for parents and children.
The Bears and Binkies program is a 10-week parenting program designed to help parents play a more positive role in their children's lives. Families work together on a variety of activities to create a loving environment.
"That's what we try to bring together," said Ileana Delfaus, executive director of East Valley Family Services. "Make the family unit a little stronger. Get them on their feet eventually."
The ultimate goal of the Bears and Binkies program is to bring awareness and resources to prevent child abuse.
