LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Local artist Michael Dodson and curator Patrick Duffy have teamed up with Fashion Show Las Vegas to debut a larger than life three-dimensional mural.

The mural can be found on the northern plaza staircase at the mal complex near Neiman Marcus.

The nature-inspired mural called ‘Be Kind to Bugs’ pays tribute to Nevada’s desert landscape.

The art installation resembles the natural beauty of Nevada and boasts a vibrant desert landscape.

“There is nothing more exciting than seeing an idea come to life, especially here in Las Vegas,” explains Duffy, CEO of the Nevada School of the Arts. “Now in our second staircase installment on The Plaza, we have been able to create not one, but two really unique concepts at Fashion Show that add a little color to Las Vegas, and after months of curation, I am beyond thrilled with the art installation Michael has created. It’s certainly a must-see art piece in the Las Vegas community.”

The artistic experience features over 50 unique colors, painted entirely by freehand, and took the artist 15 days to complete.

“It is an honor to partner with Fashion Show Las Vegas for this one-of-a-kind art installation,” stated Dodson. “As Las Vegas is my hometown, I take pride in showcasing the beauty that is Nevada and I’m excited to debut ‘Be Kind to Bugs’ in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip.”
