UPDATE AUG. 20: The Animal Foundation is reporting more than 200 animals adopted during Clear the Shelter event.

SeaQuest is offering a free one-year family annual membership to anyone who adopted an animal during the event and can show proof of adoption.  For any families that have adopted two animals, SeaQuest will offer the same membership valid for two years. The family annual membership includes complimentary unlimited entry for one year for two named adults and up to three children living in the same adulthood, valued at $139.95 per year.

The Animal Foundation will be participating in the nationwide Clear the Shelters Day event from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18.

During the one-day event held at The Animal Foundation campus at 655 North Mojave Road, the shelter will waive adoption fees for all animals waiting for forever homes.

Several hundred dogs, cats and small animals, including rabbits, will be available for adoption. The no-cost adoptions (city/government fee up to $10 may apply) on Aug. 18 will include spay/neuter surgery, microchip and up-to-date vaccines. Adoptable pets will also be available for free at The Animal Foundation’s Everyday Adoption Center at the PetSmart at 286 W. Lake Mead Parkway in Henderson.
