13 Things To Do This Week for Nov. 13-19

Here is a list of 13 things to do in Las Vegas for the week of Nov. 13-19:

1. Glittering Lights at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway opens Nov. 13. The holiday drive-through spectacular features more than 3 million lights along a 2.5 mile racetrack. New this year is a tribute to Las Vegas nearly three football fields in length, a 50-foot tall kissing Mr. and Mrs. Claus, a 200-foot candy tunnel, and 250,000 palm tree lights.

2. Comedian Whoopi Goldberg made her film debut in "The Color Purple" in 1985. Since then, she has appeared in several movies and is now a moderator on "The View." She still likes telling jokes though and she'll be doing just that on stage at Treasure Island on Nov. 13.

3. Vegas Tribe is hosting a Friday the 13th Dance Party at The Phoenix Bar & Lounge on Nov. 13. There will be a community drum circle, several DJs, live painting, great food and drinks, and more.

4. The Las Vegas Contemporary Dance Theater is presenting a special performance to celebrate Ella Fitzgerald on Nov. 13 at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts. Las Vegas headliner Clint Holmes and powerhouse vocalist Reva Rice will perform a very special duet.

5. Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine is both a cover band and comedy act. All of the band members names are based on cheese: Richard Cheese, Bobby Ricotta,Laighton Millea, Billy Bleu and Becky Running Bear. Catch their performance Nov. 13 inside Club Madrid at Sunset Station.

6. More than 30 food trucks will participated in Sunset Park'd on Nov. 14 at Sunset Park. There will also be craft vendors, games for children, live music by Almost Normal, Avalon Landing, Same Sex Mary, The Perks and many more. Participating trucks include Blondies Bacon Creation, Curbside Cafe, Dude Where's My Hot Dog, Frozen Frog, Joe on the Go, The Lunch Box, Oming's Kitchen, Rolling Fusion, Slidin' Thru and Stripchezze. This is the third year for the free event.

7. The Las Vegas National Horse Show Grand Prix horse jumping event is taking place Nov. 14 at the South Point. The top national and international show jumpers from around the world will compete for $100,000 in prizes during the world cup competition. There will also be a Parade of Nations and live entertainment.

8. Multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated band Godsmack is cranking the volume when they return with special guest Red Sun Rising to The Pearl inside of The Palms on Nov. 14. Godsmack has sold more than 15 million albums and has 18 hit singles, four platinum records, a gold EP and four Grammy nominations.

9. Some of the best young country music stars will perform when The Ultimate Country Music Concert Tour: Guitars & Country Stars stops at the Silverton on Nov. 14. Performers include  Joshua Scott Jones from Steel Magnolia, Chuck Wicks and Josh Graci performing their hits like "Nothin' to Loose", "Brand New Girlfriend", "Cinderella" and many more.

10. Lights Out, a vocal group from Philadelphia, will present "Tribute to Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons" on Nov. 13 and 14 at The Cannery on East Craig Road. They will perform hits including "Who Loves You," "Sherry," "Oh What a Night," "Big Girls Don't Cry," and "Can't Take My Eyes Off You."

11. The Art2 Downtown Arts Festival is a one-day art festival celebrating the best independent artists, craftsmen and designers, from around the Las Vegas Valley. The festival is taking place from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Nov. 14 in the heart of the 18b Arts District in downtown Las Vegas.

12. Motionless in White, which recently released their third metalcore album titled "Reincarnate," perform with The Devil Wears Prada on Nov. 15 at the Brooklyn Bowl. Special guests Upon A Burning Body, The Word Alive and The Color Morale.

13. Spend "An Evening with Heart" Nov. 19-21 inside the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay. Sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson will perform their biggest hits including  "Magic Man," "Barracuda," "These Dreams" and "What About Love."
