It's Nevada Reading Week in Southern Nevada and 13 Action News is talking about its love of books.
Nevada Reading Week was established more than 30 years ago when Bill Abrams with the Nevada State Department of Education conceived of the idea. The purpose was to encourage a love of reading by giving children opportunities to read and be read to.
Each year, 13 Action News employees and many other members of the community head to local schools to read to students. Here are some of our employees talking about what books mean to them.

It’s #NevadaReadingWeek! Meet my new friends over at Roundy Elementary School. They’re a bunch of smart kids, I tell ya. After all the ❄️ we got last week, of course I picked a book talking about ⛄️. They told me all about the fun they had when we got snow in the valley. @KTNV pic.twitter.com/6CxyfltMVY
