LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — At 101 years old, a World War II veteran is on a cross country mission. But today, he's taking a break coming back to Nevada for his son's wedding.

Sidney Walton has made it to 36 states as part of his "No regrets tour."

The mission, to meet all 50 governors and raise awareness of the rapidly shrinking number of WWII vets.

Along the way, Sidney's son and travel companion, Paul, says he met the love of his life.

So they made a detour to the Little White Wedding Chapel where the elder Walton was the best man.

"I gotta tell you, this tour that we've been on it feels the best when I'm with my dad and he's front and center," said Paul Sidney.

The Waltons have stuck to driving as a way to get across the country during the pandemic.
