LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Cupcakery in Las Vegas is celebrating its 15th year in business.

Pamela Jenkins, the owner, was only 25 years old when she saw an opportunity to start her own business.

Since then, The Cupcakery has grown quite a reputation for its sweet treats and customized cakes in the southeast part of the valley. But, Jenkins says the COVID-19 pandemic has slowed business at the popular bakery dramatically.

"Sales are almost non-existent," she said.

In response, Jenkins says she has made changes to her staff and the bakery's operating hours. Still, the bakery remains open and Jenkins remains hopeful.

And despite the sharp dip in sales, The Cupcakery is offering 20% to all first responders.

"You have to make that choice," said Jenkins. "Are you going to panic? Are you going to live in fear? Or will you press on?"

"We will press on."
