Flood victims in South Carolina are getting a little help thanks to a shoe order mix-up.
It started when a woman ordered a pair of shoes for her husband from Zappos, which is based in Las Vegas.
When the wrong shoes were delivered, she called customer service to let them know. The customer service agent apologized for the mix-up and told the customer to give the wrong pair to someone who needed them.
The customer then told the Zappos employee about how her community had recently been devastated by flooding and promised to find someone who needed a new pair of shoes.
Soon after, a large box was delivered to the customer's home. The box was full of fleece blankets and a card from the folks at Zappos. The note on the card read:
“I wanted to send you something else to donate to the people in need. Thank you for being amazing and helping those around you who’ve had such a hard year.”
