The WWE has suspended one of its legendary wrestlers, Jerry "The King" Lawler, after he was arrested on a domestic assault charge.
Memphis police were called to the 66-year-old wrestler's home early Friday morning. Lawler's 27-year-old fiance, Lauryn McBride, claimed that Lawler hit her in the head and pushed her against a stove.
McBride also says that Lawler pulled out a gun and told her to kill herself.
Lawler claims that his fiance kicked him in the groin.
Lawler has been a prominent figure in the world of wrestling for 40 years. He is semi-retired as a wrestler and currently owns a restaurant on Beale Street in Memphis. He is also a color commentator for the WWE.
Lawler was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007.
Both of them were booked into the Shelby County jail around 1 a.m., according to WREG Channel 3.
