A section of an interstate became a sea of copper Thursday morning.

A tractor-trailer carrying blank pennies to the U.S. Mint in Philadelphia crashed into a barrier, overturned and caught fire in New Castle, Delaware.

Thousands of pennies spilled onto Interstate 95, forcing police to close it in both directions.

The truck driver only suffered minor injuries.
