No deal yet on Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor fight

Despite rumors that Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor are going to fight, it appears the boxer is staying in retirement. At least for now.

In an Instagram post Tuesday, Mayweather says in part, "there hasn't been any deals made in regards to a fight between myself and any other fighters. I am happily retired and enjoying life at this time."

 

There seems to be several rumors floating around media recently however, let the record show, there hasn't been any deals made in regards to a fight between myself and any other fighters. I am happily retired and enjoying life at this time. If any changes are to come, be sure that I will be the first to let the world to know.

Shortly after, the UFC fighter McGregor wrote on Twitter that he is in Las Vegas and "Floyd has retired on my arrival."

The rumors of a fight began in 2016 when Mayweather posted a mock-up of a poster on social media.

McGregor added fuel to the fire when he obtained a license to box in December.

Mayweather retired in September 2015 after win over Andre Berto.
