Mendoza's outfit included a black hooded robe and mask along with a duggel bag and long gun.

He says he didn't mean to scare anyone and he was surprised when the photograph of him in his costume went viral.

Mendoza says he was there to have a good time with his daughters and his girlfriend and he wasn't there to try to scare anyone or make anyone uncomfortable.

Dozens of children attended the Monster Bash at the mall.
