LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A World War II veteran has a special request for Valentine's Day.

The 104-year-old wants as many people as possible to send him a card.

Major Bill White spent 30 years on active duty and earned a Purple Heart for leading his marines and surviving Iwo Jima.

He says he keeps a lifetime full of memories carefully preserved on his book shelves, organized by year, and wants to add to his collection with Valentine's Day cards from strangers.

"I'm going to save every one of them just as I did everything else up until now," said Maj. White (Ret.). "And they'll become a personal part of my history."

He says one of his favorite hobbies has become scrapbooking. His address is below.
