A little league baseball league got a happy ending tonight just days after thieves broke into a valley uniform store and stole hundreds of jerseys.

They were all to be worn Friday in the opening games of the Green Valley Little League.

Police say the jerseys were stolen Sunday from Game On Sports Apparel near Rainbow Boulevard and Sahara Avenue.

Store manager Michelle Hare was shocked when she arrived to shattered glass and hundreds of missing jerseys. She says she didn't lose hope, instead making sacrifices to get the jerseys made in time.

"$900 in overnight fees and on Monday we spent most of the day buying a new computer,” she told 13 Action News. “We had to upload software and even do all of that stuff to even get us to a position where we could order uniforms.”

League President Marc Grisar is thankful for Michelle’s hard work.

"Well, your stomach kind of falls and you're wondering why did this happen,” he told 13 Action News. “Then your mind just changes and then you have to get into gear.”

Hare says the break-in struck a chord because her kids grew up playing baseball.

"I would never want to send my own child out on the field without a uniform and I would never want to send anybody else's child on to the field with no uniform,” she said.
