The Nevada Highway Patrol has released the name of a 47-year-old Wellington woman who was killed in a Douglas County crash that also injured a city council candidate in South Lake Tahoe, California.

Trooper Duncan Dauber said Monday that Carrie Hilderbrand died in the head-on collision Friday on State Route 207, the Kingsbury Grade.

Jason Collin, 42, who is running in the November election, and his wife, Natalie, were among four people who suffered minor to moderate injuries in the crash. They were taken to Reno hospitals, where their conditions were unknown Monday.

Dauber said Hilderbrand was driving eastbound in a Nissan Pathfinder when the SUV drifted over the center line and struck a motorhome driven by Jason Collin.

Dauber said it's not clear if either driver was impaired. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
