Around 12:03 a.m., a woman was struck by a vehicle in the Nellis Boulevard and Vegas Valley crosswalk.
The woman was crossing Nellis in a marked crosswalk with the pedestrian "walk" signal illuminated when she started crossing. Apparently, she was walking slowly and the cross time expired.
All the vehicles remained stopped, with the exception of a red pickup truck and that driver struck the pedestrian. The driver then fled the scene.
The woman hit by the truck was transported to the hospital where she later died.
