An elderly woman was found dead inside an apartment following a fire Wednesday morning.
The fire occurred at 11:55 a.m. in the 5400 block of East Harmon Avenue, just east of Boulder Highway, at the Canyon Pointe Apartment Homes. The fire was in a three-story building, affecting the unit of origin and surrounding 17 units. None of the units are habitable at this time.
After getting the fire under control, Clark County Fire Department firefighters found a deceased elderly woman in the apartment where the fire started.
One person was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
The cause is under investigation.
