A 69-year-old woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle near Horizon Ridge Parkway and Eastern Avenue Thursday night.

Reports say the woman was jaywalking.

Medical staff tried to revive the woman at the scene. They transported her to the hospital where she died from her injuries.

The 41-year-old driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police say they do not believe at this time that speed or alcohol were factors.

The woman's name will be released after the Clark County coroner has notified relatives.

The woman's death is the fourth involving a pedestrian this year in Henderson and the 8th traffic-related fatality.
