A 37-year-old woman died in a crash while trying to avoid a dead animal on the roadway in Lincoln County Tuesday.

According to Nevada Highway Patrol, she was traveling in a 2003 Pontiac northbound on the U.S. 93, south of Mile Marker 140. The vehicle traveled to the left in order to avoid striking a dead animal lying in the roadway.
