A 53-year-old woman is dead after she and her 54-year-old male companion were hit by a car near East Charleston Boulevard and South Lucerne Street.
According to Las Vegas police, the pair was walking on the sidewalk when the driver of a 2002 Buick Century lost control of the car and hit the two pedestrians.
Both pedestrians and both occupants of the car were transported to UMC Trauma.
The woman was pronounced dead after arrival. The driver of the Buick suffered moderate injuries. The condition of the other pedestrian is unknown.
Police say the male driver, Alejandro Molina, was 19 years old and his male passenger was 15. The investigation into the incident is ongoing. The driver could face possible charges.
The incident happened around 9:55 p.m. Wednesday.
The Clark County coroner will release the name of the deceased after her relatives have been notified.
This is the 79th traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas for 2015.
