Wind Advisory canceled for Las Vegas, still in effect for other parts of Clark County

UPDATE FEB. 25: The Wind Advisory has been canceled for Las Vegas, although gusts of 35 mph this morning are still delivering wind chills in the 30s at 9 a.m. in parts of town. Expect the north breezes to gradually taper by the end of the afternoon, with gusts under 20 mph after 3 p.m. It should turn nearly calm this evening and tonight, and winds on Friday will be limited to 5-15 mph.

It's a windy Wednesday in Las Vegas.

A Wind Advisory is in effect through 1 p.m. on Thursday. Gusts of more than 40 mph are expected in parts of the valley on Wednesday night.

55 mph was recorded at McCarran Airport shortly after 7:30 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
