UPDATE APRIL 2: Las Vegas police identified the man involved in Monday's barricade situation at Turnberry Towers as Errol Gaines. He is facing multiple charges that include three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, and domestic battery with use of a deadly weapon.
ORIGINAL STORY
A woman is safe after a barricade situation at Turnberry Towers on Paradise Road and Sahara Avenue.
It began around 11 a.m. Monday. Police received a call at 11:11 a.m. about a man with a gun arguing with a woman. The couple was then seen going into the unit.
Police treated the incident like a barricade and closed down streets in the area. Nearby units inside the tower were also evacuated. The woman eventually came out of the unit but the man did not.
At around 2 p.m., police informed the media that the man had been taken into custody.
