LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A Las Vegas valley mother who's son suffers from cerebral palsy makes a plea to the public after someone stole his walker.

Jessica Ruiz said it happened on Saturday morning near their apartment on Torrey Pines and Smoke Ranch Road.

Ruiz says she left her son's walker out for a few because she was rushing to get to the hospital.

When she came back to get it, the walker was gone.

Ruiz's son, Julian was born prematurely at 23 week old. As a result of his disorder his walking is delayed.

Ruiz made a police report and put the word out on social media.

Within 24 hours her friends, family and even strangers raised enough money for a new walker.

She's still hoping that the person responsible come forward.
