The community came together to remember the mother and three children killed earlier this week.
Friends held a memorial Friday for the family outside the Walgreens, near Lake Mead and Jones boulevards, where 35-year-old Phoukeo Dej-Oudom was shot and killed Wednesday. Police said Jason Dej-Oudom shot her and their three kids -- Anhurak Jason "A.J." Dej-Oudom, 9, Xonajuk "J.J." Dej-Oudom, 14, and Dalavanh Ariel "Lala" Dej-Oudom, 15, before killing himself.
A.J.'s former teacher organized the memorial, which people lit candles and released balloons as they said their final goodbyes to the mother and her children.
Parents also worked to help their children cope after the deaths of the three kids.
