It's been one year since a driver, high on drugs, plowed into a bus stop killing a little girl and her grandmother.

On Wednesday night, family and friends gathered together at Sahara Avenue and Maryland Parkway -- the site of the March 30, 2015 crash -- to remember Alyssa Aisa and Maria Garcia.

Aisa's dad spoke with 13 Action News in his first ever interview Wednesday. He talked about how much he misses his little girl.

"Just a lot of days that I've been crying in my room, we spent a lot of time, we play a lot, she's my playmate," said Ryan Aisa.

He also spoke about Leonardo Ruesga, the man sentenced to 12 to 40 years behind bars for driving high on drugs and plowing into the victims, killing them.

"He's not really saying sorry for real," said Aisa. "I think he's a liar. I was raised to forgive. I'll forgive him. But my family, probably not.

A balloon release was also held for anyone who had lost a loved one.
