LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Authorities are investigating two deaths related to the Electric Daisy Carnival over the weekend.

Channel 13 confirmed with Clark County that two men died in connection with EDC at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

They were identified as 39-year-old Opkar Mahal, of North Las Vegas, and 33-year-old Azmi Atassi, of Flagstaff, Arizona.

The causes of death are still pending.

In a statement to media on Tuesday afternoon, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said its investigators would review the men's deaths.

According to police, one man had a medical episode at the event and was transported to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

"The other was discovered in a hotel room deceased. It is believed that the individual was in Las Vegas to attend the event," police stated.

This comes as arrests and citations decreased during this year's festival, according to data shared by Las Vegas police on Monday.
