The Las Vegas Band of Paiutes called the review of national monuments "unnecessary" as the Department of the Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke visited Southern Nevada Monday.
President Donald Trump issued an executive order calling for the review of the recent monument designations made under the Antiquities Act, including two of Nevada's national monuments, Gold Butte and Basin and Range.
Paiute tribal leaders said the review can't be completed without the Trump administration listening to the tribe.
Public comment regarding the review is open until July 10.
