Las Vegas police and local businesses are on the lookout for a thief who is apparently stealing tip jars from south valley coffee shops.
Authorities were called to Grouchy John's Coffee Shop, located on Maryland Parkway near Wigwam Avenue, at about 8:45 a.m. Friday with reports of a burglary.
Store employees informed police that a man waited around in the sitting area before he approached the counter and stole the tip money that was in front of the cashier.
The suspected thief then left the scene in a black Mercedes, according to the coffee shop.
Metro police said the man is also connected to other tip jar burglaries in the area at Joe Maxx Coffee Company and Bad Owl Coffee.
Officers described the suspect as a man in his 20s with curly hair and a mustache.
