Simpson's facial expressions during his parole hearing on July 20 ranged from attentive to slightly exasperated to amused. In addition, although he did sound humble upon occasion, he was almost confrontational at other times.
There is no doubt though that he was relieved and happy when he heard that the parole board was granting parole.
