Detectives have arrested 18-year-old Thayron Paxton and 18-year-old William Bogan in connection with a fatal shooting last week.

They were transported to the Henderson Detention Center where they both face one count of open murder.

At approximately 5:55 p.m. May 11, patrol officers were dispatched to the 7000 block of West Gowan Road, near Tenaya Way, to investigate reports of a shooting. Arriving officers located an adult male inside of a vehicle suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Medical personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

The man killed was identified as 25-year-old Dareon Laquan Deas. He died of a gunshot wound to the chest.

The investigation initiated by the LVMPD Homicide Section indicates that the victim was in the driver’s seat of a vehicle when two unidentified black male adults entered through the rear doors of the vehicle. Both suspects were armed with handguns and during the course of an apparent robbery, shot and killed the victim. The suspects then fled the area on foot.
