Police have made charged a man with murder after an incident on the Las Vegas Strip earlier this year.

Around 4:20 a.m. on May 3, officers were dispatched to the valet area of the Paris Hotel and Casino to investigate a report of an injured man down on the ground.

Arriving officers discovered an adult male in the valet area suffering from an apparent head injury. The male was transported to the UMC Trauma Center where he was later pronounced deceased.

The investigation indicated the victim was involved in a physical altercation with a black male adult, where he was punched, fell to the ground, and lost consciousness.

As a result of this investigation, detectives identified the suspect in this case as 23-year old De Angelo Mathews.

It was learned that Mathews was in custody at the Clark County Detention Center in connection with an unrelated incident.

On December 22, he was rebooked for this incident and faces one count of Open Murder.
