Family relieved after man suspected of shooting girl arrested

LATEST: 13 Action News was in touch with the victim's family. Despite the arrest, they say they are still too scared to be identified.

The child is recovering physically. However, she is still dealing with the trauma of coming under fire, according to the family.

"We can walk out the door without looking over our shoulders now," said the victim's mom.

ORIGINAL: Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting that injured a Las Vegas child.

Curtis Truman, 23, was taken into custody on Wednesday in Southern California after authorities received an anonymous tip on his whereabouts, according to police.

Truman was shown in a surveillance video back in September shooting into the back of a car that resulted in injuring a 7-year-old girl.

Authorities thanked the public for their assistance in the arrest as Truman awaits extradition.
