NORTH LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Kids are making strides with in-person learning in North Las Vegas. The city's Urban Micro Academy kicked off in August as most Clark County School District students continued distance learning.

So far, city leaders say students have been making significant progress in reading and math.

Mayor John Lee and others are urging CCSD to reopen schools immediately.

Lee has also asked Supt. Jara to rent unused school buildings to the city if they don't reopen by Jan. 15.

The mayor would like to expand the academy.
