A shaving kit began smoking on board a Virgin America flight from Las Vegas to John F. Kennedy Airport in New York early Wednesday morning.
According to ABC News, a passenger noticed the smoke and smothered the kit to prevent a fire. It is believed that the lithium batteries inside the shaving kit were the cause.
The plane landed just before 5:25 a.m. and the Port Authority Aircraft Rescue firefighter unit responded.
No injuries were reported.
The flight number was Virgin America 1260.
