A 19-year-old motorcyclist is in the hospital with serious injuries following a crash Monday evening.
Kaelan Jones was hurt in the crash around 5:38 p.m. near Broadbent Boulevard and Broadlake Lane, near Wetlands Park.
Jones' Yamaha motorcycle was traveling southbound on Broadbent north of Broadlake when a Toyota Camry entered the path of the motorcycle. The motorcycle then caused tire friction marks and fell over on its side. The Yamaha and Jones struck the Toyota before coming to rest on the sidewalk.
Jones was transported to Sunrise Trauma with serious injuries.
The driver of the Toyota, Roberto Pais-Valdivia, stayed on scene and cooperated with police. He had minior injuries.
This crash remains under investigation.
