One person is dead after a crash on Monday morning.
It was reported around 8:24 a.m. near Lake Mead Boulevard and Mount Hood.
Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicated that a 2014 Nissan Versa was traveling eastbound on Lake Mead Boulevard approaching Mt Hood, where an eastbound 2016 Peterbilt semi-truck and trailer was stopped for a red light.
The Nissan failed to stop, resulting in the front of the Nissan making contact with the rear of the stopped semi-truck's trailer.
The driver of the Nissan was transported to UMC Trauma where he was pronounced deceased by medical personnel.
This is the 51st traffic-related fatality in LVMPD's jurisdiction in 2016. This collision remains under investigation.
