Currently, the pedestrian body count sits at 58 in Clark County, year to date.
On Friday, Santa was crossing Sahara Avenue at Las Verdes Street, a mid-block crossing just west of Valley View.
Officers handed out citations to both pedestrians crossing unsafely and drivers not yielding to those in the crosswalk.
Las Verdes Street is a school crossing zone for part of the morning and officers also looked for drivers passing other moving vehicles in the zone, in addition to speeders and cell phone users.
The effort was to remind all drivers about their role in Zero Fatalities.
