UPDATE: The Nevada Highway Patrol says a trooper was seriously injured when he was hit by a tour bus that was backing up in a 5-hour traffic jam created when a woman threatened to jump from the Hoover Dam bypass bridge.
Trooper Jason Buratczuk said Tuesday the injured officer was hospitalized with head injuries after the incident a little before 10 a.m. on State Highway 172.

Buratczuk says the driver of the tour bus was questioned, but it wasn't immediately clear if any citations were issued.

The woman was taken into custody at 10:47 a.m.
The Nevada Highway Patrol Southern Command says that roads are closed near the Hoover Dam due to a suicidal woman threatening to jump.
The incident began around 6:03 a.m. Tuesday. The woman is on the Mike O'Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge that overlooks the dam. Las Vegas police are assisting with preventing the suicide attempt. Crisis Intervention Team officers and Crisis Negotiators are on the scene.
U.S. Highway 93 and State Route 172 are both closed near the scene.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible.
