An 18-second video posted by rapper Post Malone has ignited a debate over whether it was too soon for him to celebrate taking a ride in a machine gun-equipped Humvee headed toward the Las Vegas Strip.
Those replying to the "Rockstar" rapper's tweet Wednesday night said it was "in bad taste" because it's still so close to the 1 October massacre on the Las Vegas Strip that killed 58 and wounded hundreds more.

After the 2017 Vegas Shooting, seems in bad taste to parade around the city with a massive gun... I guess that’s America for ya, eh?

Malone took to Twitter just hours later clarifying the machine gun on the vehicle from Battlefield Vegas was not functional.
the gun isn't even real y'all. i was at battlefield vegas and they gave me a ride back in the Humvee. it really has nothing to do with anything. just was having fun. never thought anyone would assume that i was being disrespectful.

With more people continue to argue over the post, Malone then issued an apology on Twitter late Thursday morning.
honestly, never meant to offend anybody. i apologize if i did. had no bad intentions. got offered a ride in the humvee and took it. -posty

13 Action News reached out to Battlefield Vegas for comment on the controversy, but was told the company had no comment.
