The protesters then marched down the Las Vegas Boulevard towards the world-famous Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign.
Police were able to turn the protesters away from the Strip at Russell Road. They are currently attempting to head back to where they started. Motorists in the area can expect delays.
“Until there’s change, that’s how it’s going to be," says Chris Watson, protester. "I hope across the nation everyone continues to take the streets until we get justice, until we get equality, until the playing field is even for everybody."
There have been multiple protests in the Las Vegas valley since a man named George Floyd died during an encounter with police in Minneapolis.
