LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Southern Nevada is certainly seeing weather that the region hasn’t seen in a while, so make sure your home and vehicle are ready.

13 FIRST ALERT: Snow falling in parts of Las Vegas, winter weather advisory continues

Mark Seeley with ACR Mechanical has advice if you haven’t used your heater in the last year or so.

“Don’t be alarmed if you smell a smell, it’s usually just from dust on the coils,” says Seeley.

Seeley also says to keep a constant check on your thermostat’s battery.
