UPDATE NOV. 2: The mug shot has been released for Edgar Mendoza-Fernandez, the man who was held down by good Samaritans after hitting a woman with his car on Halloween.

ORIGINAL STORY: Police say a driver is being investigated for driving under the influence after his car hit a woman, barely missing a child trick-or-treating, and then crashed into a house.

It happened in the 1800 block of Winterwood Boulevard, near Nellis and Charleston boulevards. Police say the driver first hit a parked car and then jumped the curb, hitting a woman walking on the sidewalk with a child.

After striking the home, police say the driver tried to run away from the scene, but cell phone video shows neighbors jumped into action and tackled the man. They kept him restrained on the ground until police arrived.

The woman was taken to University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The child was not hurt.
