A police officer was injured during a traffic stop on Wednesday.

It happened around 1:45 p.m. near Desert Inn Road and Decatur Boulevard.

Investigators say that a patrol car was conducting a stop of a vehicle for a broken tail light.

When the patrol officer approached the car, the female driver took off, resulting in the officer being dragged a short distance. The officer suffered minor injuries to his hand, but was not transported.

Metro police say one of their officers suffered minor injuries this afternoon. He had pulled a woman over during a traffic stop, but she took off, dragging the officer with her.
