Police seeking man connected with homicide

Detectives are looking for 23-year-old Jessie Sheppard in connection with a homicide that took place Thursday around 5 a.m.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, a woman called police to report her ex-boyfriend had kicked in the door to her apartment, beat her, then left. Family members of the woman then went to another apartment in the complex to confront the suspect. Several people forced their way inside the apartment in which the suspect supposedly resided.
Someone inside the unit fired a handgun and one of the males who forced his way inside was hit. He walked to the parking lot where he fell and was found deceased. The person who fired the shots was gone when police arrived.
