Police: Man hit, killed by car crossing east Las Vegas street outside crosswalk

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A 73-year-old man has died at the hospital after being hit by a sports car while trying to cross a street in east Las Vegas.

The crash happened Wednesday near Pecos Road and Tropicana Avenue shortly before 6 p.m.

Police say he was outside of a marked crosswalk when he was hit.

The man was rushed to Sunrise Hospital with critical injuries but was pronounced dead on Thursday.

According to authorities, the driver remained on the scene and did not show any signs of impairment.

The coroner identified the deceased as Virgilio Pabiona Nacionales, Sr. from Las Vegas.

This crash marks the second traffic-related death in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction in 2020.
