Police: Man accused of murdering woman in Las Vegas apartment

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A man is in jail and faces a murder charge after a woman was found dead in her Las Vegas apartment last month.

47-year-old Edward Brown was taken into custody on April 1 near Boulder Highway and Tropicana Avenue.

Police say he is suspected of killing 68-year-old Cheryl Brown.

Brown was found dead in her apartment during a welfare check on March 18. A relative had not heard from her for several days and was concerned for her safety, according to authorities.

When officers arrived at her apartment, they found Brown dead with several lacerations.
