The Clark County School District Police Department and Las Vegas police are investigating threats made via social media to Tarkanian Middle School near South Jones Boulevard and West Pyle Avenue.
The threats were made on Thursday. Sgt. Zink with CCSD PD says he became aware of the threats around 7 p.m.
Both CCSD PD and Las Vegas police sent extra patrols to the school this morning. Zink says they will remain near the school until it ends on Friday.
Zink says that the principal of the school notified parents on Thursday night.
At this time, it is not known who made the threats.
