RTC bus driver identified in Friday shooting

LATEST UPDATE: RTC bus driver Norman Chen was arrested in connection Friday's shooting of a passenger.

Chen has been charged with attempted murder. He is on administrative leave pending the investigation.

UPDATE: Police say an RTC bus driver reportedly shot a passenger after an altercation. Investigators say the passenger was asked to leave the bus.

The passenger and driver were involved in a fist-fight which resulted in the passenger being shot in the left arm. The passenger was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. The bus driver was taken into custody.

It appears there were no other passengers on the bus during the altercation.

Detectives are interviewing the bus driver. Action News will post updates as they are received.

Police are investigating a shooting.

It was reported on Friday evening around 6:13 p.m. Blue Diamond Road and Dean Martin Drive.

There is no information on what led to the shooting, or if there are any suspects in custody. Action News has a crew on the scene that is working to gather more details.
