The North Las Vegas Police Department is investigating a homicide.
It happened on Thursday around 4:30 p.m. near Cheyenne Avenue and Civic Center Drive.
Police say a young man was shot after a fight broke out in a parking lot. He was taken to UMC Trauma where he died from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was identified as 18-year-old Kishawn Washington of North Las Vegas.
North Las Vegas Police say while they are not releasing a suspect description or a motive at this time, they do not believe this is a random act of violence.
The Clark County coroner will release the name of the victim after relatives have been notified.
